Covering a Scar

Covering a scar is a different story. You have to work with the contours of the body and create a design that will cover or compliment the scar. You also have to take into account the size of the design the customer wants. This one took two sessions of about an hour and a half each. Line with 3-needle tights and coloured with 8-needle rounds. Used disposable tubes by UNIMAX and my custom made machine. It was a vertical scar and she wanted a small design. I decided on vines with 3 shades of green. I did not know how the end product would look but I knew how I wanted it to look. Apart from the customer twitching every few seconds getting the detail in was the difficult part. In the end I was pleased with the result and earned a few new customers after it healed.

MS 13

Since the regional crackdown on the Salvadoran based street gangs of MS-13 former members are at risk of getting deported by authorities or killed by hard core gang members. It is illegal to expose or "flash" gang tattoos in Belize and an MS-13 is certainly a ticket to shit creek without a paddle. I have covered up several MS-13 tattoos which has been very hard work. The one here had so much keloid scar tissue I lined it with a 9-needle tight configuration and did the shading with a 14-round shader. This is definntely not my best work but it is a major acheivement compared to what lies below. It is still work in progress and will have pics when completed. Plus I still have this guy's other arm and back to creatively cover up.
